After receiving more than a gorzillian amount of enquires on where and how to get the wedding cake from {dean+yang}'s wedding, i have finally decided to post the contact the baker.(I certainly hope they don't sue me for doing this without their permissions!)
Anyways, the pictures on the website doesn't do them any justice but still the overall layout is simple and nice. Please kindly contact Yun if you want to do some wonderful cakes for your wedding! (Pardon my babbling, I really dislike fake wedding cakes from hotel, coz i think they are just doing it for sake of making the whole wedding banquet thingy more complete. And sometimes, i just wonder why would my clients ask me for the pictures of the cake from the hotel since everyone else is having that.. same cake, which i happened to see it for the 100th times this year at xyz hotel? Haha.. anyways, i sincerely hope this year round all my clients will be getting real cakes so that i can get some great pictures of them! (And probably steal a bite when no one is watching=p))
Lastly, if the post is offensive, it's just some personal thought after years of shooting weddings and it's just like complaining about that cute colleague of yours. Don't worry about me not shooting the cake at your wedding, be it real or fake. I'm just babbling coz it's really late at night and sometimes, real cakes are just easier and creamier to shoot. Yum! (Opps i didn't say that)

a new year, and one to look forward to
Year 2009 marks a beginning and a different chapter for me. I just hit the magical three O's mark a month ago, and i think my reflexes are slowing abit, my brain not working as fast as they were and.. my waist growing... And for the first time in my life, i failed the 12.40 mark. It was a really really dreadful way to end 2008. (Btw, 12.40 mark is the pass timing for 2.4km run.)
To summarize, the whole of 2008 was a great year in terms of all the amazing images we have made and i am really looking forward to 2009 where we can extent our creativity more into pre-weddings. Yes, you got it right. We are going into pre-weddings for 2009. In fact, like never before, we actually put a price for it! I think this will certainly caused a few eye brow to raise? Haha.. But all in all, we were having fun experimenting with pre-weddings late last year and so, here we are. So do mail us for portfolio or our price list on this!
Well to a certain extent, we have to admit the impending recession does affect wedding photographers and like every business, plans to cut cost are rolling out and the simplest way to our clients are keeping our rates in order to retain our competitiveness. And like never before also, we now offer packages for people who wants a more hassle approach. More packages might be out for the 2nd half of year, depending on the type of enquires and responses we have. So stay tuned!
Lastly, Happy New Year to everyone and we hope 2009 will be a blessed year for all!

wedding of {dean + yang}
October saw the wedding of Dean & Yang, our great pathfinder's friend. When they first approach me to be their wedding photographer about 8 months ago, i was pretty hesitant to agree as friend's wedding are something a good'o photographer would always try to avoid. Then, i was also going through a rough patch, so the question if they were simply trying to be nice and give me some work to do lingers constantly. I am really glad they persisted and now i am really stuck with a set of great photos which took me some time to decide on what to do with them. The overall pastel feel is kind of nice, and reminds me of Jose Villa's wedding works. Anyways, to cut the long story short, hope you guys will enjoy the photos!

Dino the ring pillow.. hand sew by Yang (btw, Dino is Dean's nickname..)

Caught Yang admiring at the wedding cake.. yum yum.. Take my word for it.. one the best cake i have ever tasted.. (opps.. photographers are not supposed to eat when shooting!) Anyways, got to get the contact from them..

And here's the cake! Yum yum...

Kids! Don't you just love them?

The bride doing her makeup.. =)

Ah... really nice light..

Jo, i got you.. okay i got 'wantons' numbers of photos of you.

i just love this two shots!

okay river pal, you are just two steps away..

dudes, where are you guys looking at? =)

okay what's a wedding without the classic kiss shot...

two of favorite shots of the day..

what can i say about the light? Amazing.. I wish every wedding could be as easy as this! =p
Last note, a heartfelt thanks to {dean + yang} for letting me shoot their wedding. It's really great to see you guys finally tying the knot after 10+ years. May God continue to bless your marriage and keep in touch when you guys are in Dubai!

Location : raffles Hotel, singapore
We have the delight in working with two really nice people {tengsern + waiyee} for their big day. The whole wedding is spread in two days with the second one in JB. It was pretty cool as it's the first time i have to bring my passport along to cross over the causeway to cover the wedding. =)

pre-wedding of {willy+huiling}
This month we have the delight of working with {willy+huiling} for their pre-wedding shoot. It was really fun to share our ideas and planning for the shoot even though things didn't really went as planned. Somehow the day was bombarded by some silly questions. It goes like this..
At National Stadium, a certain burly indian uncle on a bicycle saw and and ask us, "where are you from?"
Boon wei, Willy, Huiling and friend look at each other and tries to answer it sincerely.
At Supreme Court, a certain unfriendly chinese uncle ran in, stop us before asking us, "where are you from?!!"
Boon wei, Willy, Huiling and friend look at each other and tries to answer it sincerely.
On the last occasion, Huiling and I honestly have the urge to tell him we are from S-I-N-G-A-P-O-R-E. Hah. Can't tell meh? All yellow skin who speak Singlish. Hah. Anyways, i found it quite hilarious, especially the part where the chinese uncle was talking on the walkie and he told the other party that there are four 'guys' in wedding gown. Eh the!? You get it.
Anyways, he told us we have ZERO chance of getting in, so we got the unfriendly hint and went for lunch after a day of "where are you from".
I really wondered what's wrong with the people nowadays. 'Four guys' in wedding gown, and it's so obvious we are GOING to take photos. Okay we get the point you are doing your job and have no doubts you guys are doing a fantastic job. Next time, please try asking, "hello, may i know where are you heading to and do have permission from the management?" I assure we will be able to provide you with a good answer.
Okay, i finally updated my blog. Been really busy and seeing so little of daylight lately. Been really sick also and drifting in/out of consciousness for a few days here and there. Health and weight is a major concern for me now. I think i should put on the Nike and start hitting the track soon.
To Willy and Huiling, thanks for being so spontaneous and fun. It was a tiring day but i am really happy with the photos.
